ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18 Column, 130Å, 1.7 µm, 2.1 mm X 30 mm, 1/pk

The ACQUITY UPLC system was designed in 2004 to enable chromatographers to use columns that are efficiently packed with pressure-tolerant, sub 2 µm particles. Known for not requiring switches between UPLC and HPLC modes, this system is holistically designed to improve resolution, sample throughput, and sensitivity significantly. In ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18 columns, this is paired with the ethylene bridged hybrid particle structure, allowing for increased efficiency, strength, and pH range. Waters’ patented BEH technology is designed to enable speed and sensitivity among UPLC separations and lab equipment.

ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18 Columns use a trifunctional ligand bonding chemistry designed to produce superior low pH stability and ultra-low column bleed. The low pH stability is combined with the high pH stability of the 1. µm BEH particle, delivering the widest usable pH operating range on the market. The columns have also undergone a proprietary end-capping process that produces outstanding peak shape for bases. By combining these bonding chemistries and particle synthesis innovations, scientists can achieve sharp peaks, high efficiencies, and maximum MS sensitivities.

Like all Waters columns, ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18 Columns set the industry standard for reproducibility between columns and batches. Manufactured in cGMP, ISO 9001 certified facilities, these columns ensure UPLC separations can be produced year after year. This is also possible because of the extended column lifetimes offered by the columns, which can be increased even further with the use of an ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18 VanGuard Pre-column, 130Å, 1.7 µm, 2.1 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk. Column lifetimes meet or exceed HPLC column lifetimes; it is common to achieve several thousand injections on a single column.

How Should I Clean ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18 Columns?

Columns may be contaminated when they begin to show changes in peak shape, peak splitting, shoulders on the peak, shifts in retention, changes in resolution, or increased backpressure. If this occurs, flushing with a neat organic solvent, making sure not to precipitate buffers, will usually remove the contaminant. If this does not work, purge the column. Purging and cleaning routines should match the properties of the sample and/or the suspected contaminant. Flush with 20 column volumes of solvent. If the performance continues to be poor, contact Waters for additional support.
