Achieve the resolving power and reliability needed to meet your analytical and preparative needs with Waters’ general purpose columns that load up to 50% more sample without sacrificing results.
When it comes to bonded C18 and C8 silica HPLC columns, Waters’ Sunfire Columns set the standard, representing the best in particle and bonding expertise in order to deliver industry-leading levels of chromatographic performance. By offering excellent stability at low pH, high efficiency, MS-compatibility, and superior peak shape, the Sunfire C18 Column is a top choice in lab equipment for general purpose method development at low pH.
With bonding and end-capping technologies developed for the Sunfire columns, Waters has been able to offer a new sorbent with superior peak shape performance, enabling symmetrical peaks for improved resolution and quantitation of acidic, neutral, and basic compounds in low and intermediate pH ranges. Low pH stability also offers column lifetime that exceeds that of many other silica-based HPLC column brands on the market.
Achieve high efficiency due to a combination of innovative and proprietary silica synthesis, bonding, end-capping, and packing technologies used to produce SunFire C18 VanGuard Cartridge, 100Å, 5 µm, 3.9 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk and Sunfire C18 Columns, along with greater sensitivity. These columns are also compatible with mass spectrometry applications, offering sharp peaks, excellent sensitivity, capacity for high peaks, and ultra-low bleed in these applications.
All Sunfire packing materials are manufactured in ISO 900 certified plants that use ultra-pure reagents. Each batch is tested chromatographically using acidic, basic, and neutral analytes, allowing the results to be held to narrow specification ranges. These controlled processes and packing procedures ensure each column offers the best and most reproducible HPLC column available. All columns are provided alongside a Performance Chromatogram and a Certificate of Batch Analysis.
What Is Mass Spectrometry?
Mass spectrometry (MS) is an analytical technique used to measure the mass to charge ratio in ions. Results usually are in the form of a mass spectrum, a plotted intensity as a function of the mass to charge ratio. These spectra are then used to determine the elemental or isotopic signature of a sample, the masses of particles and of molecules, as well as to elucidate chemical identity or structure of molecules and other chemical compounds. MS is used in a wide range of fields and can be applied to both pure samples and complex mixtures. Common uses include sequencing and characterizing proteins and pharmaceutical analysis.
