ACQUITY UPLC BEH Phenyl Column, 130Å, 1.7 µm, 2.1 mm X 50 mm, 1/pk

When looking for selectivities complementary to other straight-chain-alkyl stationary phases, reversed-phase columns that contain phenyl-ligand can be a top choice in solution. However, these ligands have traditionally had disadvantages, including poor pH stability, reproducibility, and peak shape. With the ACQUITY UPLC BEH Phenyl Column, Waters has designed lab equipment that overcomes these challenges, providing complementary selectivities, outstanding pH stability, and excellent peak shape across compounds.

ACQUITY UPLC BEH Phenyl Columns utilize a trifunctional C6-alkyl tether between the phenyl ring and the silyl functionality. By combining this phenyl-hexyl ligand with the same proprietary end-capping processes used in the ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18 Column, 130Å, 1.7 µm, 2.1 mm X 50 mm, 1/pk, you can achieve ultra-low column bleed, long column lifetimes, and superior peak shape. The unique blend of ligand, endcap, and 1.7 µm BEH particle creates new levels of selectivity and efficiency for formerly difficult UPLC separations.

In addition to the rugged and efficient stationary phases, ACQUITY UPLC BEH Phenyl Columns are also designed to offer the longest possible lifetime for columns being used under UPLC conditions. This is done using improved column hardware that minimizes band broadening and ensures a leak-free connection and an innovative frit design that keeps the 1.7 µm particles in the column and not the detector or MS source. Combined with a proprietary column-packing station and process, chromatographers are guaranteed a stable packed column bed and long, reproducible column lifetimes.

ACQUITY UPLC BEH Phenyl Columns follow Waters’ strict standards that enable them to be the industry standard for column-to-column and batch-to-batch reproducibility. All columns are manufactured under strict processes that ensure year after year consistency and reproducibility.

What Is The Recommended pH Range?

For ACQUITY UPLC BEH Phenyl Columns, the pH range recommended for use is between 1 and 12. The column lifetime will vary based upon operating temperature, type, and concentration of the buffer used. For example, using a phosphate buffer with pH 8 in combination with elevated temperatures can lead to shorter column lifetimes.

What Is the Pressure Capacity?

ACQUITY UPLC BEH Phenyl Columns can tolerate operating pressures up to 18,000 psi or 1241 bar. Extreme pressure may result in shortened column lifetimes.
