XBridge BEH C8 Column, 130Å, 3.5 µm, 4.6 mm X 100 mm, 1/pk
The XBridge BEH C8 Column provides you with a powerful tool to increase your chromatographic efficiency and throughput. The XBridge BEH C8 sorbent is less retentive compared to the XBridge BEH C18 sorbent. Anyone developing methods may prefer the speed offered by a less retentive column, while improving peak shape and chromatographic performance. The tri functionally bonded sorbent offers you the widest usable pH range (1-12), superior low pH stability, and ultra-low column bleed.
Each step of our manufacturing process is tightly controlled to maintain unmatched reproducibility and reliable performance. Every test from raw material characterization to final batch analysis ensures that this column exceeds the standards for the lab equipment industry and provides excellent batch to batch reproducibility over a long column lifetime. This column is designed to maximize your productivity whether your goal is to create a quality control method or to develop LC/MS assay. The XBridge BEH C8 column improves pH stability, enhances column reliability, and maximizes particle efficiency. This powerful combination provides you with a lengthened column lifetime, reliable assay ruggedness, unmatched peak shape, and higher capacity.
This column is equipped with Waters’ cutting edge Ethylene Bridged Hybrid particle technology. BEH synthesis creates particles that ensure extreme column performance and long lifetime under incredibly harsh conditions. This particle is prepared from two high purity monomers - tetraethoxysilane and triethoxysilyl. This results in a highly stable, pH resistant, and mechanically strong particle. BEH particle technology significantly improves the chromatographic performance of the base particle and decreases band spreading.
BEH technology also plays a crucial role in improving peak shape. The ethylene bridge links adjoining silanols which increases particle strength and reduces free silanol sites which can cause adverse interactions with the injected sample. Traditional methods such as excessive endcapping may result in broad and tailing peaks. The ethylene bridge reduces the number of free silanols to provide a sterically favorable ratio for bonding and endcapping the ligand.
Your valuable LC columns are in constant danger from harm from particulate contamination during each use. This chemical contamination can shorten the lifetime of your columns and dramatically reduce their performance. If you want to protect your XBridge BEH C8 Column you may want to check out our XBridge BEH C8 VanGuard Cartridge, 130Å, 3.5 µm, 3.9 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk. XBridge BEH C8 VanGuard Cartridges are used to extend analytical column lifetime and performance by removing particulate contamination from the mobile phase stream. This cartridge is optimized to protect all 4.6 mm I.D. XBridge BEH C8 analytical columns containing 3.5 µm sorbent particles. These column cartridges can save you the immense cost of prematurely replacing your valuable XBridge BEH C8 Columns.
How do I determine my initial column efficiency?
Perform an efficiency test on the column before using it in the desired application. Waters recommends using a suitable solute mixture, as found in the “performance chromatogram test” for initial analysis. It is also important to determine the number of theoretical plates and use this value for periodic comparisons. Repeat the test at periodic intervals to track column performance over time.
