Atlantis T3 Column, 100Å, 3 µm, 3 mm X 150 mm, 1/pk
As the new industry standard for retaining and separating polar compounds with reversed-phase technology, Atlantis T3 columns not only work with highly polar compounds but provide superior performance across a wider pH range. Designed to provide longer column lifetimes at low pH, Atlantis T3 Columns also offer improved peak shape for amine-containing bases at pH 7.
The excellent performance of Atlantis T3 Columns is a result of the new, advanced T3 bonding process from Waters, which utilizes a trifunctional C18 alkyl phase bonded at a ligand density that promotes polar compound retention and aqueous mobile phase compatibility. This proprietary T3 end-capping process has been shown to be more effective than traditional trimethyl silane (TMS) end-capping techniques. The combination of bonding and end-capping enables superior polar compound retention and aqueous compatibility, while enhancing column performance, lifetime, peak shape, and stability.
Atlantis T3 Columns are designed specifically to offer long and predictable column lifetimes under low pH conditions, making the lab equipment cost-effective as it needs to be replaced less often. Shortened column lifetimes are usually due to the dissolution of the silica particle substrate by the high pH mobile phase; the effective and efficient T3 bonding offers protection from this dissolution, enabling the longer column lifetimes. This can be extended even further using Atlantis Silica T3 VanGuard Cartridge, 100Å, 3 µm, 2.1 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk.
Each Atlantis column is manufactured beginning with ultrapure reagents that control the chemical composition and purity of the final product. The manufacturing process happens in a cGMP, ISO 9001:2000 certified plant and each step is conducted within narrow tolerances.
How Should Atlantis T3 Columns Be Stored?
When storage is needed for more than four days, columns should be stored in 100% acetonitrile. They should not be stored in buffered eluents. If the mobile phase contained buffer salt, flush the column with 10 column volumes of HPLC grade water, then replace with 100% acetonitrile for storage. Failure to perform this step may result in precipitation of the buffer salt in the column when 100% acetonitrile is introduced. You can reference your column’s manual for common column volumes. Completely seal the column to avoid evaporation and drying out of the bed.
