ACQUITY UPLC BEH Shield RP18 VanGuard Pre-column, 130Å, 1.7 µm, 2.1 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk
The first guard columns devices designed for routine use at pressures up to 15,000 psi (1000 bar) in applications run on the ACQUITY UPLC system, the ACQUITY UPLC BEH Shield RP18 VanGuard Pre-columns feature a 2.1 mm ID x 5 mm length and ultra-low volume design that efficiently protects UPLC column performance. The design is able to provide benefits to scientists in a range of industries without compromising the holistic UPLC design approach to high efficiency, improved resolution, and increased throughput, as the same stationary phases and column frits are used as in ACQUITY UPLC applications. The ACQUITY UPLC BEH Shield RP18 VanGuard Pre-columns are able to connect directly to the inlet of an ACQUITY UPLC column, minimizing extra-column volume and mobile phase leaks by eliminating additional connections. The ACQUITY UPLC BEH Shield RP18 VanGuard Pre-column brings chromatographers all the benefits of the ACQUITY UPLC system, BEH particle technology, and the VanGuard Pre-column products.
As a complement to the ACQUITY BEH C18 and C8 phases, the ACQUITY UPLC BEH Shield RP18 VanGuard Pre-column acts as a necessary and powerful tool for HPLC and UPLC method development. With the use of an embedded carbamate group in the bonded phase ligand, this column is able to provide alternate selectivity, particularly for phenolic compounds compared to straight-chain alkyl columns.
ACQUITY UPLC BEH Shield RP18 VanGuard Pre-column combines Waters’ patented Shield Technology particles, incorporating an embedded carbamate group into the bonded phase ligand. The excellent peak shape from the embedded polar group ligand is combined with the wide pH range and ultra-efficiency of the 1.7 µm BEH particle, providing an even more powerful use of both technologies to chromatographers.
Manufactured using UPLC column hardware, particles, and chemistry, these columns offer the same superior protection and performance as all columns. Each piece of lab equipment is rigorously tested against narrow specifications to ensure column to column and batch to batch reproducibility, and works seamlessly with other related Waters’ products, like the Neutrals QC Reference Material.
Who uses separation science?
Separation science is a laboratory-based science that is focused on the detailed study and controlled separation of mixtures, or substances made from two or more elements and compounds that have been combined. Another name for separation science is chromatography. Separation science is used in most industries that rely on chemistry of any sort. This includes bioanalysis, food and beverage, natural products, environmental and industrial chemicals, and pharmaceutical development. Other major developments, such as genomics and DNA fingerprinting, would not be possible without separation science.
What is UPLC?
Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) signifies a revolutionary stride in separation science, surpassing the capabilities of High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). Equipped with UPLC Columns filled with finer particles [1.7 – 1.8 µm], your laboratory gains the capability to attain the pinnacle of chromatographic performance. Embracing UPLC Technology empowers your lab to enhance resolution, sensitivity, and speed to unprecedented levels, all without making any concessions or compromises.
