XSelect HSS C18 Column, 100Å, 5 µm, 4.6 mm X 250 mm, 1/pk
The HSS C18 is a general-purpose C18 bonded phase column with superior peak shape for bases, higher retention (than XBridge C18 columns), and long column lifetimes at low pH. The selectivity and retention of HSS C18 columns will be comparable to that of most contemporary, completely end-capped, high-coverage silica-based C18 columns.
To handle complex samples and ensure that varying types of food and other components can be researched in depth using chromatography, a variety of particle technologies is required. To ensure that your lab operates smoothly, Waters has developed a wide range of lab equipment, including columns that utilize unique, distinct, and exclusive particle technologies. Using carefully selected ligands that complement CSH and HSS technology in Waters products, you will be able to overcome any chromatographic challenges with the application of the XSelect HSS C18 Column.
Waters developed the HSS—High Strength Silica technology that is used in the XSelect HSS C18 Column to enhance the chromatographic performance of the 'Ethylene Bridged Hybrid' - BEH and 'Charged Surface Hybrid' - CSH particles. The XSelect HSS C18 Column's properties enable it to withstand UPLC pressures, make it fully scalable and transferable to UPLC separations, and provide you with additional system benefits such as improved polar compound and different selectivity.
During separations, it is critical to isolate and quantify sample constituents using a high resolution for complex samples. If you are interested in studying further options available from Waters, please browse through our website or check out our catalog, from where you may shop for lab equipment so you can refresh your stock as per your laboratory demands.
Compatible with the XSelect HSS C18 Column, you should also review XSelect HSS C18 VanGuard Cartridge, 100Å, 5 µm, 3.9 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk; XSelect HSS C18 VanGuard Cartridges are used to extend analytical column lifetime and performance by removing particulate contamination from the mobile phase stream. This cartridge is optimized to protect all 4.6 mm I.D. XSelect HSS C18 analytical columns that contain 5 µm sorbent particles.
What Pressures and pH Levels Can The XSelect HSS C18 Column Safely Operate On?
The recommended pH range for operating the XSelect HSS C18 SB Column is 1 to 8. It is important to note that while the column is designed to withstand a pressure of 6000 psi (or 415 bar), it is advisable to avoid exceeding the maximum range as it can significantly impact the column's durability and performance over time. By staying within the suggested pH and pressure limits, users can ensure optimal longevity and effectiveness of the XSelect HSS C18 SB Column.
