XSelect HSS T3 Column, 100Å, 3.5 µm, 4.6 mm X 150 mm, 1/pk
Using carefully chosen ligands, the XSelect HSS T3 columns have redefined the idea of a broad, selective, modern HPLC column family. These ligands combined with the proprietary Charged Surface Hybrid (CSH) and HSS Technologies offer chromatographers uniquely selective columns that deliver high analyte loading, operational stability, and full scalability for UPLC, HPLC, and other preparative separation platforms.
The superior performance of XSelect HSS T3 Columns is possible because of Waters’ new and advanced T3 bonding process, which utilizes a trifunctional C18 alkyl phase that is bonded at a ligand density which promotes polar compound retention and aqueous mobile phase compatibility. This proprietary T3 end-capping process offers much more efficacy than traditional lab equipment that uses trimethyl silane (TMS) end-capping. With a unique combination of bonding and end-capping, the XSelect HSS T3 column provides superior polar compound retention and aqueous compatibility, while simultaneously enhancing column performance, lifetime, peak shape, and stability.
Because of the highly retentive nature of these C18 columns, the bonding is done at a ligand density which is less hydrophobic and therefore more compatible with weak and highly aqueous mobile phases. With some columns, this can result in a gradual loss of compound retention that has a negative impact on column lifetime. XSelect HSS T3 columns are uniquely and specifically designed for a long and predictable column lifetime under low pH conditions. Column lifetime can be extended even further using a complementary XSelect HSS T3 VanGuard Cartridge, 100Å, 3.5 µm, 3.9 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk during separations.
With good retention of and selectivity for neutral and hydrophobic compounds in addition to polar analytes, XSelect HSS T3 Columns are a highly regarded option for your reversed-phase LC needs.
How Do You Clean And Regenerate HSS T3 Columns?
When there is a sudden increase in pressure or a shift in retention or resolution, it can indicate the column has become contaminated. To remove a non-polar contaminant, flush the column with a neat organic solvent. If the problem is not solved by this flushing procedure, the column should be purged with a sequence of progressively more non-polar solvents. For example, you can move from water to tetrahydrofuran to methylene chloride. Then return to the standard mobile phase conditions by reversing the sequence.
