XSelect HSS T3 Column, 100Å, 5 µm, 4.6 mm X 150 mm, 1/pk
When Waters sought out to redefine a broad, selective, modern HPLC column family, they used carefully chosen ligands and proprietary technologies to create the XSelect HPLC Column families. These columns provide unique selectivity and deliver high analyte loading, operational stability, and full scalability, as well as the benefits of High Strength Silica and T3 processes.
XSelect HSS T3 Columns are based on Waters’ High Strength Silica technology. The high-pressure tolerance of this silica makes this lab equipment the only commercially available silica-based column that is designed for UPLC. The unique silica substrate used in these columns is combined with optimal ligand bonding, offering chromatographers a range of columns, including use in high aqueous mobile phases. These benefits are combined with the proprietary T3 end-capping process, designed to allow for higher efficacy than columns with trimethyl silane (TMS) end-capping that is more traditional. With this combination of unique bonding and end-capping, the XSelect HSS T3 Column is able to provide not only enhanced retention, but also improved column performance, lifetime, peak shape, and stability.
Columns are sold individually and have an inner diameter of 4.6 mm and a length of 100 mm. Each XSelect HSS T3 Column has been individually tested and was manufactured in a cGMP, ISO 9001:2000 certified plant, with each step conducted within narrow tolerances. Manufacturing begins with ultrapure reagents to control chemical composition and purity in the final product. All columns arrive with a Certificate of Batch Analysis and a Performance Chromatogram. Further testing can be performed using Reversed-Phase QC Reference Material.
What Solvents Can Be Used with XSelect HSS T3 Columns?
In order to maintain maximum performance, high-quality chromatography grade solvents should always be used. Any solvents containing suspended particulate materials will usually clog the outside surface of the column’s inlet frit, resulting in higher operating pressure and reduced performance. All solvents should be degassed thoroughly prior to use in order to prevent bubble formation in the pump and detector. It is recommended to also use an on-line degassing unit, especially when running low-pressure gradients, as bubble formation can occur due to aqueous and organic solvent mixing during the gradient.
