Product Description

XSelect CSH C18 columns can be used as general purpose columns that provide alternative selectivity compared to other C18 sorbents. Charged Surface Hybrid (CSH) technology helps you overcome column related problems such as peak shape asymmetry and poor loading for basic compounds, column bleed, and slow mobile-phase re-equilibration.

XSelect CSH C18 Column, 130Å, 5 µm, 4.6 mm X 250 mm, 1/pk

XSelect CSH C18 Columns are general purpose columns designed to provide alternative selectivity when compared to other C18 sorbents due to the use of Charged Surface Hybrid (CSH) technology. This process begins with the unbonded, rugged, and efficient ethylene bridged hybrid (BEH) particle and then applies controlled surface charge, using a reproducible low-level charge. A proprietary bonding and end-capping process is then applied. This gives XSelect CSH C18 columns the ability to ensure superior peak shapes in basic compounds, increased loading capacity, rapid re-equilibration, and excellent stability at low pH. The unique phases used in XSelect columns offer a combination of efficiency and selectivity to enhance the resolution of very complex samples.

XSelect columns offer the widest range of selectivities of any modern LC columns from Waters, without compromising necessary performance attributes like superior peak shape, reproducibility between batches, ultra-efficiencies, and seamless transferability between different particle sizes and column formats. Many chromatographers turn to CSH technology to overcome problems they often experience with columns and other lab equipment, including peak shape asymmetry and poor loading in basic compounds, column bleed, and slow mobile phase re-equilibration. Where column lifetime is a concern, contamination can be prevented with the XSelect CSH C18 VanGuard Cartridge, 130Å, 5 µm, 3.9 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk.

Each batch of XSelect CSH C18 Columns is tested chromatographically with acidic, basic, and neutral analytes with the results held to narrow specification ranges that ensure excellent and reproducible performance. Every column is then individually tested. All packing materials are designed specifically for the XSelect CSH C18 column and all manufacturing occurs in a cGMP, ISO 9001 certified facility that uses pure reagents.

How Do I Equilibrate My XSelect CSH C18 Column?

XSelect CSH C18 columns will arrive in 100% acetonitrile. Before changing to a different mobile-phase system, it is crucial to ensure compatibility with the desired mobile-phase. Equilibrate the column using a minimum of 10 column volumes of the chosen mobile phase to be used. In order to prevent precipitating out mobile phase buffers on your column or within your system, flush the column with five column volumes of a water/organic solvent mixture with the same or lower solvent content as in the desired buffered mobile phase.
