XSelect CSH Phenyl-Hexyl Column, 130Å, 3.5 µm, 4.6 mm X 150 mm, 1/pk

Based on Waters’ novel Charged Surface Hybrid (CSH) technology, the XSelect CSH Phenyl-Hexyl Column is made to provide alternative analyte selectivity when compared to traditional reversed-phase columns, making them a valued tool for method development. CSH technology is the next evolution of particle technology, helping to dramatically improve virtually all elements of LC column performance in acidic, low ionic strength mobile phases that are commonly used by chromatographers.

XSelect CSH Phenyl-Hexyl Columns boast all the advantages of CSH technology, including superior peak shape for basic compounds, increased loading capacity, and excellent stability at low pH. The particle also allows for rapid column re-equilibration after changing the mobile-phase pH and improved reproducibility between batches of material and columns. The column can be paired with the XSelect CSH Phenyl-Hexyl Method Validation Kit, 130Å, 3.5 µm, 4.6 mm X 150 mm, 3/pk.

As a part of the XSelect family of columns and lab equipment, the XSelect CSH Phenyl-Hexyl Column offers efficiency and selectivity that combine to enhance resolution of very complex sample matrices. While offering the widest range of selectivities of any LC columns produced by Waters, the columns do not compromise necessary performance attributes like superior peak shape in basic compounds, low column bleed, excellent reproducibility, ultra-efficiency, or seamless transferability between particle sizes and column formats.

Each batch of XSelect CSH packing materials is tested chromatographically against acidic, basic, and neutral analytes using narrow specification ranges that ensure excellent and reproducible results. Each column is individually tested and produces a Performance Test Chromatogram and Certificate of Acceptance that are included with the column. All materials are manufactured in a cGMP, ISO 9001:2000 certified plant using ultra-pure reagents.

How Do I Perform Column Equilibration On XSelect CSH Phenyl-Hexyl Columns?

XSelect CSH columns are shipped in 100% acetonitrile. It is critical to ensure mobile-phase compatibility before switching between mobile-phase systems. The column can be equilibrated with a minimum of 10 column volumes of the mobile phase to be used. In order to avoid precipitating out mobile-phase buffers on the column or in the system, flush with five column volumes of a water/organic solvent mixture, with the same or lower solvent content as in the desired buffered mobile phase. For example, flush the column and HPLC system with 60% methanol in water prior to introducing a 60% methanol/40% buffer mobile phase.
