Product Description

XBridge BEH Shield RP18 columns complement the XBridge BEH C18 and C8 phases and provide a necessary and powerful tool for HPLC method development. The embedded carbamate group in the bonded phase ligand provides alternate selectivity, especially for phenolic compounds compared to straight chain alkyl columns. Packed in ultra-low dispersion hardware, 2.5 µm eXtended Performance [XP] columns enable exceptional separation performance, robustness and throughput for HPLC assays while enabling a seamless transition path toward UPLC adoption.

XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP Column, 130Å, 2.5 µm, 4.6 mm X 75 mm, 1/pk

Add the XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP Column to your lab as it is designed to complement the XBridge BEH C18 and C8 phases. It also provides a necessary and powerful tool for HPLC method development. The column is able to provide alternate selectivity, especially for phenolic compounds compared to straight-chain alkyl columns, due to the embedded carbamate group in the bonded phase ligand. Further, as the 2.5 µm eXtended Performance [XP] column is packed in ultra-low dispersion hardware, it delivers exceptional separation performance, robustness, and throughput for HPLC assays while enabling a seamless transition path toward UPLC adoption.

The XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP Column can be used to optimize the test conditions that are necessary for achieving a successful separation. The column also exhibits the ability to successfully operate over a wide range of pH with a variety of solvents, while offering an alternate selectivity.

Use the XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP Column to achieve superior separation of bases. You can observe reduced silanol interactions with basic analytes in the XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP Column, which leverages Waters' patented Shield Technology. This enables the column to deliver highly symmetrical and efficient peaks. This deactivation of basic analytes is called the ‘Shielding’ effect that is responsible for the improved peak shape and is superior to the ordinary C18 columns available in the market that give poor peak symmetry due to secondary interactions with basic compounds due to weak cation exchange with residual surface silanols.

The XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP Column also makes it possible to use less time and greater confidence in developing robust separations to fully utilize the power of pH. The lab equipment also provides superior pH stability over the widest pH range (1-12), along with high efficiency and symmetrical peak shape. In addition, the XBridge analytical column is the benchmark for LC method ruggedness and longevity.

Shop for lab equipment to complete your lab equipment collection. We recommend that you also invest in the XBridge BEH Shield RP18 XP VanGuard Cartridge, 130Å, 2.5 µm, 3.9 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk.

What Useful Properties Do Phenolics Exhibit?

Phenols are widely used in household products, as well as intermediates for industrial synthesis. For example, phenol itself is used (in low concentrations) as a disinfectant in household cleaners and in mouthwash.
