CORTECS C18 Column, 90Å, 1.6 µm, 2.1 mm X 100 mm, 1/pk
Following in the path of Water’s successful sub-2-µm particle columns, the CORTECS C18 Column delivers the full benefits of solid-core particle technology and the potential for higher efficiency when compared to the fully-porous particles of similar particle sizes. CORTECS C18 Columns are designed and constructed for maximum efficiency and throughput to set the standard for efficiency in UPLC columns.
When using CORTECS C18 Columns, chromatographers can increase sample throughput with better or comparable peak capacities by simply raising the flow rate of the method. Additionally, the high efficiency of CORTECS columns enables the use of a shorter column length than the original separation without sacrificing peak capacities, all while providing faster re-equilibration time. By increasing analysis speed without separating performance, laboratories have the option to run more samples in the same time frame or to get results faster, leading to decreased cost of analysis, operations, and lab equipment.
In addition to efficiency, the C18 ligands in this CORTECS column offer superior retention and stability in acids, bases, and neutrals at low and mid-range pH, while providing superior efficiency, resolution, and retention for complex analyte mixtures. For an extended lifetime, the CORTECS Solid Core C18 VanGuard Pre-column, 90Å, 1.6 µm, 2.1 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk can be added as a compliment.
All CORTECS columns are manufactured in a cGMP, ISO 9001:2000 certified facility using strict quality procedures across the solid-core particles, the bonded phase synthesis, and the column packing results. This enables Waters to offer a high-quality and reproducible final product. Each batch of material is tested chromatographically with acidic, basic, and neutral analytes to assure excellent performance.
What Solvents Should Be Used With CORTECS C18 Columns?
In order to achieve maximum column performance, high-quality chromatography solvents should be used in all sample preparations. Filter any aqueous buffers prior to use through a 0.2 µm filter. If a solvent contains suspended particulate materials, it will generally clog the outside surface of the inlet distribution frit of the column. This can cause higher operating pressure and poorer performance.
