CORTECS C18+ Column, 90Å, 1.6 µm, 2.1 mm X 150 mm, 1/pk

The CORTECS C18+ Column is a general-purpose, high-efficiency reversed-phase column whose positively charged surface delivers excellent peak shape for basic compounds at low pH. The column is designed on solid-core particles, which provide improved performance by lowering each of the three terms of the van Deemter equation. The A term is lowered as the solid core particles pack more uniformly, the B term is lowered as the solid core particles exhibit lower particle porosity, which reduces axial diffusion, and they lower the C term as their solid core improves heat transfer, reducing radial temperature gradients.

By simply raising the flow rate of the method, the CORTECS Solid Core C18+ Column enables you to increase your sample throughput with comparable or even better peak capacities. The unique column design and properties allow you to use a shorter column length compared to the original separation, while maintaining similar peak capacities. This can assist with a significant reduction in your overall lab operating costs.

What Is The Best Way To Store The CORTECS Solid Core C18+ Column After Reversed-Phase And HILIC Use?

It is recommended to store the column in 100% acetonitrile for durations longer than four days. Store the column immediately after use in 100% acetonitrile for separations utilizing elevated temperature. Kindly do not use buffered eluents to store the column; if your mobile phase used contains a buffer salt, flush the column with 10 column volumes of HPLC-grade water followed by 10 column volumes of acetonitrile. If these recommendations are not followed, it could result in precipitation of the buffer salt in the column when 100% acetonitrile is introduced. Completely seal the column to avoid solvent evaporation and drying out of the chromatographic bed.

What Are The Pressure And Temperature Limitations Of The CORTECS C18+ Column?

This CORTECS C18+ Column can withstand pressure up to 18,000 psi (or 1240 Bar) and a maximum temperature of 45 degrees. It also has a pH range of 2 to 8. However, you should note that working at the extremes of pressures, pH, and/or temperatures will result in shorter column lifetimes and effectiveness.
