Product Description

ACQUITY UPLC M-Class Trap Columns are designed for optimal performance for nano- to micro scale liquid chromatographic separation for biomarker discovery and protein and peptide identification and characterization. All M-Class columns are designed for 15 kpsi (1,000 bar) operating pressure and handle pressure fluctuations during injection extremely well and thus provide superior longevity.
The 2G Trap Columns are designed to minimize peak broadening while maximizing chromatographic efficiency. They can be used in a variety of 1D (low pH) nano flow applications. For 2D applications where the first dimension utilizes high pH, Waters recommends the use of 2D trap columns. This specific offering contains Waters Symmetry 100 Å pore, C18, 5 µm particles. Symmetry silica particles offer on average the highest retention for peptides and are thus most suitable for trapping applications.
The 2G V/M trap columns connect with a V-detail to the main valve and a smaller M-detail fitting to a T-piece or other suitable connection point in the LC system. Due to their design, 2G trap columns are suitable for bi-directional flow.

The ACQUITY UPLC M-Class Symmetry C18 Trap Column offers you top of the line precision and batch to batch reproducibility for nano and micro scale separations. When used with the proper procedures this column will provide you with incredible efficiency and the ability to avoid peak tailing. This Column is sheathed with a protective polymer tubing in order to reduce costly leaks or damage to any of the essential components of this column. This trap column is suitable for a variety of acidic analytes in a pH range of 2-8.

If you are looking to expand your analytical capabilities to include phosphopeptide detection you may want to check out our MassPREP Phosphopeptide Sample Kit - Enolase. The MassPREP™ Phosphopeptide Kit contains one piece of 186002325 MassPREP™ Enolase Digest and one piece of 186003285 MassPREP™ Phosphopeptide Standard Enolase which contains 4 Yeast Enolase derived phosphorylated peptides; T18p, T19p, T43p, T43pp. This kit allows maximum flexibility for mixing a complex sample spiked with a known mixture of phospotylated peptides to help optimize phosphopeptide detection in LC/MS, LC/UV and MALDI-MS analyses. Using this standard, scientists have greater control over sample preparation, with the option to use pure peptides or to define phosphopeptide to unmodified peptide ratio.

What mobile phases and buffers can I use with my ACQUITY UPLC M-Class Symmetry C18 Trap Column?

To maintain and ensure maximum column performance and lifetime, only use MS-grade solvents. Filter all aqueous buffers prior to use through a 0.2 µm filter. Solvents containing suspended particulate materials may clog the inlet of the columns. This may result in higher backpressure or distorted peak shape. A table of recommended buffers is listed in Table 4. Only prepare small quantities of mobile phase into fresh, clean bottles. Do not top up mobile phases. Exchange bottles and mobile phases after an extended period of time.
