XSelect CSH C18 XP VanGuard Cartridge, 130Å, 2.5 µm, 2.1 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk

XSelect CSH C18 Columns, Prep Columns, Guard Cartridges, and VanGuard Cartridges provide unsurpassed selectivity and reproducibility for your chromatographic analysis and are designed to separate tightly eluting sample elements with diverse analyte selectivity. When compared to conventional C18 sorbents, XSelect CSH C18 columns, prep columns, guard cartridges, and VanGuard cartridges can be employed as general-purpose columns that give alternate selectivity. These columns are made with Charged Surface Hybrid (CSH) technology, which helps them overcome common column difficulties such as asymmetry in peak form and poor landing for basic chemicals, column bleed, and sluggish mobile-phase re-equilibrium.

By eliminating particle contamination from the mobile phase stream, XSelect CSH C18 VanGuard Cartridges help to increase the lifetime and performance of analytical columns. All 2.1 mm and 3.0 mm I.D. XSelect CSH C18 analytical columns with 2.5 µm sorbent particles are protected by this cartridge. The XSelect CSH C18 XP VanGuard Cartridge is made of the same packing material as the XSelect CSH C18 XP Column, making it compatible with the analytical column and extending its life. The XSelect CSH C18 Prep Guard Cartridge will also help you save money on purification.

CSH Technology offers a number of benefits, including superior peak shape for basic compounds and high peak capacity for complex mixtures; increased mass load for preparative separation without the use of ion-pairing reagents; and rapid column equilibration, allowing for rapid changes in mobile-phase conditions and pH to screen multiple mobile-phase conditions.

You might also be interested in reviewing the Waters Preparative Chromatography Mix Standard; the Quality Control Reference Material portfolio is a unique collection of standards and mixtures that allow the user to evaluate and benchmark their chromatography system before analysis of critical material. The Preparative Chromatography Standard is 5 mg/mL each of Diclofenac sodium salt, Diphenhydramine hydrochloride, and Flavone in DMSO-- this standard mix should be used to confirm the benchmark performance of your preparative or purification system. This particular QC Reference Material is a specially formulated mix that includes a void marker, neutral, acidic, and basic compounds. It can be used with a variety of column chemistries, dimensions, and system hardware.

What Pressure Can Be Used With The XSelect CSH C18 XP VanGuard Cartridge?

The XSelect CSH C18 XP VanGuard Cartridge is designed to withstand a pressure of 18000 psi (or 1240 Bar) along with a particle size of 2.5 µm and pore size of 130 Å; however, it is always recommended to not cross the maximum range to ensure best possible column lifetime and effectiveness.
