Product Description

CORTECS T3 columns are compatible with 100% aqueous mobile phases, and provide excellent retention for polar and non-polar analytes. The particle morphology offers high efficnecy and lower backpressure when compared to fully porouse particles of similar particle size. CORTECS T3 provides you with ultra-low column MS bleed, long lifetimes and excellent peak shape.

CORTECS Solid Core T3 Column, 120Å, 1.6 µm, 2.1 mm X 150 mm, 1/pk

As the newest members of the CORTECS family, CORTECS Solid Core T3 columns are designed to provide balanced retention for both polar and non-polar compounds under reversed-phase conditions. The increased pore diameter of 120Å enables the use of 100% aqueous mobile phase while eliminating the fear of phase dewetting, while the low-level C18 ligand bonding and proprietary end-capping allow for polar molecules to interact with residual hydrophilic silanols, providing more retention. CORTECS Solid Core T3 Columns are chemically stable at a low pH and fully LC-MS compatible.

The solid core particle packing materials combine a fully porous surface layer that has been bonded to a solid-core substrate, a combination that creates a highly efficient particle substrate that maintains chromatographic resolution while offering the advantages associated with lower column back pressures. The innovative solid-core technology used in this lab equipment is paired with bonding chemistry and CORTECS chemistry to reduce operational backpressure, increase sensitivity, and simplify method transfers.

CORTECS Solid Core T3 columns utilize Waters’ advanced T3 bonding process, utilizing a trifunctional C18 alkyl phase that is bonded at a ligand density which promotes polar compound retention and aqueous mobile phase compatibility. This proprietary process is much more effective than traditional trimethyl silane (TMS) end-capping, and combined with end-capping processes, provides superior polar compound retention and aqueous compatibility while also enhancing column performance, lifetime, peak shape, and stability.

This combination of technologies makes CORTECS Solid Phase T3 Columns an optimal choice when separating compounds of various polarity, offering ultra-low column MS bleed, long lifetimes, and excellent peak shape. Lifetimes can be extended further using CORTECS Solid Core T3 VanGuard Pre-column, 120Å, 1.6 µm, 2.1 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk.

What Operating Limits Apply To CORTECS Solid Core T3 Columns?

CORTECS UPLC columns can tolerate operating pressure up to 18,000 psi (or 1240 bar/124 MPa). Recommended temperatures are those between 20 and 40 degrees C in order to achieve enhanced selectivity, lower solvent viscosity, and increase mass transfer rates. When operating at a high pH, lower temperatures are preferred to increase column lifetime. The pH range for these columns is between 2 pH and 8 pH. Column lifetime may vary based on operating temperature as well as the type and concentration of buffer used.
