Spherisorb ODS1 Column, 80Å, 5 µm, 4.6 mm X 250 mm, 1/pk

The Spherisorb ODS1 Column is a general-purpose, silica-based, reversed-phase C18 column and an excellent piece of lab equipment for your liquid chromatography needs. The packing of the Spherisorb ODS1 Column features low ligand density with a specified carbon load of 6%. This is critical as the way a column is packed will influence four very important performance features. These include peak symmetry, column efficiency, column lifetime, and column-to-column reproducibility. The column packing processes used by Waters are developed to ensure maximum performance at all times.

It is crucial to understand the effect of all process parameters such as slurry solvent choice, packing pressure, time, temperature, flow rate, and slurry volume in order to pack the best column. This is why Waters R&D engineers do extensive research to develop a packing process for each product we offer. This results in the lab equipment you can trust and rely upon to get the best peak symmetry, highest column efficiency, and best column stability.

To guarantee you get the most reliable lab equipment, each Spherisorb ODS1 Column is individually tested, and a copy of the test chromatogram is supplied with each column.

Explore the Spherisorb ODS1 Guard Cartridge, 80Å, 5 µm, 4.6 mm X 30 mm, 3/pk. The guard cartridge is designed specifically for the Spherisorb ODS1 Column, to ensure that your analytical column delivers high performance over a long period of time. This is achieved by removing any chemical or particulate contaminants from the mobile phase, and thus, protecting the column.

How Is Regeneration Carried Out For The Spherisorb ODS1 Column?

To regenerate the Spherisorb ODS1 Column, pump 20-30 column volumes of dichloromethane and isopropanol through the column. Based on the suspected contamination, other solvents may also be used. Another recommended wash solvent for regeneration of the Spherisorb ODS1 Column is tetrahydrofuran (THF). As determined by the sample contamination, you may need to replace guard columns at regular intervals as well. A sudden appearance of split peaks is an indication that the guard column needs replacement. Another factor indicating this is the increase in system backpressure above a set pressure limit.
