Spherisorb ODS2 Column, 80Å, 5 µm, 4.6 mm X 150 mm, 1/pk
As one of the most widely referenced HPLC columns across scientific literature, Waters’ family of Spherisorb Columns have appeared in over 2000 analytical abstracts and provide a wide range of validated methods and applications. This extensively studied lab equipment has enabled global chromatographers to optimize their method development process. The durable and highly efficient Spherisorb ODS2 Column allows for superior performance, reproducibility, and durability in separations.
Spherisorb ODS2 Columns are general-purpose, silica-based, reversed-phase columns that use a C18 sorbent. The ODS2 packing using these columns features intermediate ligand density with a specified carbon load of 11.5% and a proprietary end-capping process.
These columns feature a classic 80Å pore size silica, manufactured by Waters facilities. The Spherisorb family of columns includes a range of particle sizes and bonded phases, offering a wide range of unique separation selectivities. This Spherisorb ODS2 column also features a 5 um particle size and a surface area of 220. Each order will contain one column with an inner diameter of 4.6 mm and a length of 150 mm. Operating limits include a maximum pressure of 6,000 psi or 415 bar and a pH range of 2 pH to 8 pH.
All Spherisorb columns are manufactured in a dedicated chromatography chemistry manufacturing plant that adheres to cGMP guidelines. As an ISO 9002 certified plant, Waters is registered with the FDA to manufacture Class 1 medical devices, allowing Waters to ensure columns consistently meet the quality standards required in regulated laboratories. Each column is individually tested and will include a copy of the test chromatogram produced during testing. Further testing can be performed using Reversed-Phase QC Reference Material.
How Should I Clean And Regenerate Spherisorb ODS2 Columns?
If you notice any of the following, contamination may be present in your column: changes in peak shape, peak splitting, shoulders on the peak, shifts in retention, change in resolution, or increasing backpressure. The first recommended course of action is to change the guard column being used. If this does not help, begin by flushing with a neat organic solvent. If flushing is not sufficient, purge the column with a cleaning routine that matches the properties of the sample and/or what you believe may be causing the contamination.
