Spherisorb ODS2 Column, 80Å, 3 µm, 4.6 mm X 150 mm, 1/pk
With citations in over 2000 analytical abstracts published, Waters’ Spherisorb ODS2 Columns are one of the most often referenced columns across scientific literature, having been used in over 2,000 analytical abstracts. Scientists trust this lab equipment to provide a tremendous range of validated methods and applications when undergoing the methods development process. These columns are durable, high-efficiency chromatographic columns with exceptional flexibility in optimizing methods and reducing solvent consumption, facilitating superior performance, reproducibility, and durability in separations.
The ODS2 packing used in Spherisorb ODS2 Columns features intermediate ligand density with a specified carbon load of 11.5%. They are supplied with industry-standard, Parker-style tube/column end fittings. A C18 sorbent is used in the general-purpose, silica-based, reversed-phase columns. Additional protection can be added with the use of a Spherisorb ODS2 Guard Cartridge, 80Å, 5 µm, 4.6 mm X 30 mm, 3/pk.
The pore size in Spherisorb ODS2 Columns is a classic size of 80Å and a particle size of 3 μm. Columns arrive one per package, with an inner diameter of 4.6 mm and a length of 150 mm. The surface area of each column is 220.
Each Spherisorb column is manufactured in a facility dedicated to chromatography chemistry manufacturing plant that falls under cGMP guidelines. These ISO 9002 certified plants are registered with the FDA to manufacture Class 1 Medical devices, allowing Waters to consistently produce products that meet the quality standards in highly regulated laboratories. Individual testing is performed on each column and copies of the test chromatogram are provided with each column.
What Are The Operating Limits For Spherisorb ODS2 Columns?
The recommended operating pH range for Spherisorb columns is from 2 pH to 8 pH. Column lifetime will vary depending upon the operating temperature as well as the type and concentration of buffer used. Spherisorb columns can tolerate pressure of up to 6,000 psi (400 bar or 40 MPa), though long-term and routine operating pressures above 4,000 psi should be avoided when possible to maximize column and system lifetimes. Temperatures between 20 and 45 degrees Celsius are recommended for operating Spherisorb columns to enhance selectivity, lower solvent viscosity, and increase mass transfer rates. Any temperature above ambient may have a negative impact on column lifetime.
