Sugar-Pak Guard-Pak Insert, 10 µm, 10/pk

Opt for the Sugar-Pak I Guard-Pak Insert in order to extend and prolong the lifetime of the analytical Sugar Pak I Column by removing chemical and particulate contaminants from the mobile phase stream. The guard insert also makes the performance of the analytical lab equipment better.

The sorbents that are used in the Waters Guard-Pak inserts are identical to the sorbents that are used in Waters HPLC columns and cartridges, as they are made using identical packing materials. Therefore, to obtain optimum performance, it is imperative to use an insert with the same sorbent as the one in the column or cartridge being used. The product listed here can be used with a Sugar-Pak I column or cartridge of 10 µm particle size. The Sugar-Pak I Guard-Pak Insert is packed with a microparticulate cation-exchange gel in calcium form.

When using the Sugar-Pak I Guard-Pak Insert with high performance/low volume columns, you may observe some loss of efficiency. To avoid this, it is recommended that the same precautions be followed as with analytical columns when using the guard holder and insert. To prevent precipitation inside the insert, only use miscible eluents.

The Sugar-Pak I Guard-Pak Insert is manufactured to the highest standards, like all our manufactured products, and is made using ultra-pure reagents under the strictest conditions. These stringent QC procedures in our cGMP manufacturing facility ensure batch-to-batch reproducibility. Each batch of the packing material undergoes multiple checks and is tested chromatographically with acidic, basic, and neutral analytes, and the results are held to narrow specification ranges to assure excellent, reproducible performance. In addition to this, every piece of lab equipment is individually tested to ensure that you receive only the best quality products for use.

Shop for lab equipment directly from us to obtain the best market rates and to be certain that you are receiving authentic Waters equipment. Through our online store, you can also purchase products like the Guard-Pak Holder.

What Is The Maximum Pressure That The Sugar-Pak I Guard-Pak Insert Can Tolerate?

The Sugar-Pak I Guard-Pak Insert can tolerate pressures of up to 6,000 psi (400 Bar or 40 Mpa). However, it is recommended that pressure be maintained in the 4,000 - 5,000 psi range in order for the lab equipment to perform at its optimum.
