IC-Pak Anion HC Column, 4.6 mm x 150 mm, 1/pk

As a part of Waters’ wide range of columns for ion chromatography, both anion and cation based, the IC-Pak Anion HC Column is a resin-based column designed to facilitate analysis of a full range of ions from numerous sample matrices, both simple and complex. The column also offers an exceptional linear loading range of fewer than 1.0 ppb to greater than 400 ppm without dilution and without any pH limitation on the eluent or the sample. With this flexibility, accurate and reproducible anion and cation analysis are possible at all concentration levels.

The stainless steel IC-Pak Anion HC Column is able to separate and quantify many anions, including F, CI, NO2, Br, NO3, HPO4^2, and SO4^2. They are recommended for analysis of inorganic ions and feature a configuration of 10 µm anion-exchange packing material.

The packing material used for this lab equipment is a polymethacrylate resin with a quaternary ammonium functional group and columns are shipped in 1.3 mM gluconic acid/1.3 mM boric acid (pH 8.5). This model offers an inner diameter of 4.6 mm and a length of 150 mm and is sold one per package, with a 10 µm particle size. The maximum recommended pressure for these columns is 3000 psi or 210 bar.

As part of Waters’ Alliance System for Chromatographic Analysis, the IC-Pak Anion HC Column can be used alongside a range of lab equipment, including an Acrodisc, Syringe Filter, IC, 13 mm, 0.45 µm, Ion Chromatography, 100/pk. The Alliance system allows for unparalleled levels of flexibility, offering high sensitivity conductivity detection, ion retention selectivity, high throughput, and choice of IC detect strategies.

How Should IC-Pak Anion HC Columns Be Stored?

Sample impurities often contribute to contamination on columns. In order to ensure continued high performance of columns and cartridges, certain guidelines should be followed. The use of Waters Oasis solid phase extraction sample clean-up cartridges, columns, or Sep-Pak cartridges of the apprAny column not in use for over 72 hours should be stored in Borate Gluconate Eluent. Eluent may be left in the columns when the column is connected to the system for short-term storage only. Columns should never be stored in water, but in the eluent being used to prevent bacterial growth. Fill the column with eluent, replace the end plugs, and return the column to its box. The column should also not be allowed to dry out, as it can lead to poor chromatographic performance. Storage should be between 15 and 35 degrees C. Freezing during storage may cause a diminished performance. opriate chemistry can be used to clean up samples before analysis and eliminate the risk of contamination. Additionally, the use of a Waters guard cartridge of matching chemistry and particle size between the injection ad main column is recommended. It is important to use a high-performance matching guard column in order to protect the main column without compromising analytical resolution.
