µBondapak C18 Cartridge, 125Å, 10 µm, 4.6 mm X 250 mm, 1/pk
As the only manufacturer that offers columns containing µBondapack C18 packing materials, Waters is the producer of choice for scientists whose method calls for irregular particle technology, and no other column has ever passed our stringent quality control batch tests. As one of the most widely referenced and requested columns, µBondapak is known for the year-to-year reproducibility achieved by the lab equipment. The µBondapak C18 Cartridge is general-purpose, silica-based, and uses reversed-phase chromatography based on a 10 µm particle technology. These cartridges serve as the starting point for optimal preparative chromatography, providing optimal balance between resolution, throughput, and cost.
While there are challenges associated with packing materials consisting of irregular and non-spherical materials, many methods in laboratories today require the use of sorbents with these particles included. Waters has spent four decades committed to creating reliable and consistent column performance for these applications. Waters continues to support these columns and accessories for global scientists.
µBondapak C18 Cartridges and columns are manufactured in tightly maintained facilities with strict quality control processes, including narrow specification ranges meant to ensure high quality and reproducible results across chromatographic applications. Further testing can be performed in the laboratory using Reversed-Phase QC Reference Material from Waters.
The cartridge is sold with one per package and offers an inner diameter of 4.6 mm and a length of 250 mm. The pore size is 125Å with a surface area of 330. Operating limits include a pH range of 2 to 8 pH and maximum pressure of 6000 psi or 415 Bar.
How Do I Clean My µBondapak C18 Cartridge?
Contamination of the column may be indicated by a shift in retention or resolution. This is usually removed by flushing the column with an organic solvent. If system backpressure increases with use, the guard column should be replaced. If there is no guard column being used, instead replace the inlet frit. If problems persist, the column may be plugged with a contaminant that needs to be dissolved with the appropriate solvent. When the flushing procedure does not solve the issue, the column can be washed with a sequence of progressively more nonpolar solvents. Once completed, return to the standard mobile phase conditions by reversing the sequence.
