Styragel GPC Guard Column, 20 µm, 4.6 mm X 30 mm, 100 - 10K, 1/pk
Ideal for the analysis of oligomers, epoxies, and polymer additivities where high resolution is critical, Styragel GPC columns were designed for use with low molecular weight samples. For Styragel columns with an inner diameter of 7.8 mm or 4.6 mm, the Styragel GPC Guard Column protects against contamination and leads to extended lifetime of your lab equipment. Styragel columns come in a comprehensive range of polymeric GPC columns to match the temperature, solvent, and polymer type being analyzed. This Guard Column has a 20 µm particle size and can be used with products such as Styragel GPC Guard Column, 20 µm, 4.6 mm X 30 mm, 100 – 10K, 1/pk.
Waters has spent 40 years crafting and refining the instrumentation, packing materials, and technology critical to optimal Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC). This has led to innovative techniques that expand beyond the original polymer analysis, including applications that allow for separation of small and large molecules from interfering matrices. These applications include those found in food, pharmaceutical preparations, and natural products. Waters remains the market leader in high-quality GPC products along with expert applications support.
The manufacturing of all Styragel GPC Guard Columns is done within strict ISO, FDA, and cGMP guidelines to ensure technology that is reproducible and at the forefront of separation science. The guard column has an inner diameter of 4.6 mm and a length of 20 mm and is sold with one guard column per package. Ensure that your guard column matches the chemistry of your chosen Styragel GPC column before purchase.
When Should I Install A Styragel Guard Column?
Guard columns are meant to protect your column against contaminants and to extend the lifetime of their corresponding columns. They are often installed as a method of troubleshooting a buildup in system operating pressure. When an inlet filter insert (from the first column only) is plugged with particulates, or an injector and pump shield are shedding, one possible corrective action is to install the appropriate Styragel guard column. You can also replace the inlet filter insert or fit an in-line filter between the pump and the first column.
