What is DisQuE?

DisQuE stands for Dispersive Solid-Phase Extraction (dSPE). It is a sample preparation technique that uses a sorbent to remove matrix interferences and concentrate target analytes from a sample. The sorbent is packed into a cartridge, and the sample is loaded onto the cartridge in the presence of a dispersing solvent. The dispersing solvent helps to distribute the sample evenly over the surface of the sorbent, which improves the extraction efficiency. After the sample has been loaded, the cartridge is washed with a solvent to remove any remaining matrix interferences. The target analytes are then eluted from the cartridge with a solvent. DisQuE is a versatile technique that can be used to prepare samples for a wide variety of analytical methods, including liquid chromatography (LC), gas chromatography (GC), and mass spectrometry (MS). It is particularly well-suited for preparing samples that contain complex matrices, such as environmental samples.
