Oasis MAX 6 cc Vac Cartridge, 150 mg Sorbent per Cartridge, 60 µm, 30/pk
Successful sample preparation is critical for the success of liquid chromatography and is designed to provide the sample component of interest in the solution, free from interfering matrix elements, and at a concentration appropriate for detection or measurement. In developing the most advanced preparation and extraction techniques, Waters created Oasis HLB, a polymeric, reversed-phase sorbent that offers higher recovery and reproducibility along with stronger retention and selectivity. Since the creation of this technology, Oasis has become a larger family of sorbents and lab equipment, including the Oasis MAX sorbent available in this 6 cc Vac Cartridge.
The core feature of Oasis sorbents, including the Oasis MAX 6 cc Vac Cartridge, is the water-wettable nature that allows for high retention to be maintained while offering capacity for a wide spectrum of analytes, especially when SPE columns run dry. When the sorbent’s pores dry out, the chromatographic retention of the analytes can be reduced, leading to poor recovery, which is common in traditional silica-based sorbents. Oasis MAX maintains proper wetting for a more consistent performance, even when air passes through, making this piece of equipment a crucial asset to your laboratory and your work in sample preparation.
When compared to traditional silica-based C18 sorbents, Oasis MAX 6 cc Vac Cartridge has two to three times more surface area, offering a dramatic increase in k values.
This cartridge ships with 30 to a package, and each cartridge has a volume of 150 mg of sorbent. The 60 µm particle size is recommended when working with especially viscous samples. Each cartridge is a syringe-barrel, designed for use with vacuum manifolds and automated SPE instruments. These cartridges are compatible with Waters products such as the BPA Method Kit.
What Particle Size Is Best For Me?
Oasis cartridges and plates are offered in two particle sizes, 60 µm and 30 µm, so that you can choose the proper product based on your sample’s viscosity and turbidity. The 30 µm particle size is recommended for extraction of most plasma, serum, and human urine. The 60 µm particle size is best used with more viscous samples like animal urine as excellent flow can be achieved. Animal and cadaver blood is also best used with 60 µm.
