The patented 96-well Oasis WCX µElution plate is designed for SPE cleanup and analyte enrichment of sample volumes ranging from 10 µL to 375 µL. Each well of the µElution plate contains 2 mg of the Oasis WCX sorbent, which is a polymeric reversed-phase, weak ion exchange mixed-mode sorbent that has been optimized for fast, simple, and highly selective sample preparation of strong basic compounds and quaternary amines. The innovative features of Oasis µElution plate enabled elution in only 25 µL, resulting in sensitive, robust, reproducible results without evaporation and reconstitution. A 15-fold sample enrichment is possible with this plate. The Oasis WCX µElution plate is compatible with most liquid-handling robotic systems for automated, high throughput SPE.

Oasis WCX 96-well µElution Plate, 2 mg Sorbent per Well, 30 µm, 1/pk
As a part of their long time innovation for solid-phase extraction products, Waters revolutionized SPE technology with the introduction of Oasis HLB. The Oasis family now includes multiple SPE chemistries for a variety of sample preparation needs, including the Oasis WCX 96-well µElution plate. This mixed-mode weak cation-exchange reversed-phase sorbent is designed specifically for strong bases and quaternary amines. This water-wettable, polymeric sorbent is stable from pH 0 to 14. With all the advantages of Oasis HLB, Oasis WCX allows for rugged and highly selective SPE methods to detect, confirm, and quantify strongly basic compounds and quaternary amines in biological fluids.
Trusted across the globe by separation scientists, Oasis WCX 96-well µElution plate helps to meet a range of sample preparation needs, including simple and fast matrix cleanup and the ability to achieve unmatched purity, consistency, and quality in all sample preparation methods.
Because of the water-wettable nature of the polymer, the sorbent exhibits excellent retention and capacity for a wider polarity spectrum of analytes, even when the sorbent bed runs dry during conditioning or sample loading. Because of this ability, SPE methods can be more rugged and robust, eliminating the need for repetitive preparation.
The Oasis WCX 96-well µElution plate is designed to enable easy, fast cleanup and analyte enrichment of sample volumes ranging from 10 µL to 375 µL. Each of the 96 wells contains 2 mg of the Oasis WCX sorbent. This plate allows for a 15 fold sample enrichment and is compatible with most liquid handling robotic systems for automated, high throughout SPE. The innovative features of the 96-well plate enable elution in only 25 µL, leading to sensitive, robust, and reproducible results without evaporation and reconstitution.

What does a sorbent do?
Sorbents are materials that are used to absorb or adsorb liquids and gases. In absorption, a liquid assimilates into the substance. For this to happen, the liquid molecules need to be small enough to dissolve into the material, like an absorbent pad. In adsorption, the liquid will stick to the surface of the material. Different types of sorbents can be used for different applications. The right sorbent will depend on the type, volume, and location of the materials. One common use of sorbents is to mitigate oil spills.
What is SPE?
SPE refers to solid-phase extraction, in which compounds that are dissolved or suspended in a liquid mixture are separated from other compounds in the same mixture according to the chemical and physical properties present. This is commonly done in laboratories to concentrate or purify samples to improve analysis.
