Product Description

The 6 cc Oasis HLB cartridges contain the Oasis HLB sorbent, which is a universal polymeric reversed-phase sorbent that was developed for the extraction of a wide range of acidic, basic, and neutral compounds from various matrices using a simple, generic protocol. Since the Oasis HLB sorbent is water wettable, it maintains its capability for higher retention and excellent recoveries even if the sorbent runs dry, which means there is no need to take extraordinary steps to keep the sorbent beds from drying out during the critical steps prior to sample loading. The 60 µm particle size is recommended when working with viscous samples. These syringe-barrel-type cartridges are designed for use with vacuum manifolds and automated SPE instruments.

Oasis HLB 6 cc Vac Cartridge, 150 mg Sorbent per Cartridge, 60 µm, 30/pk

Based on the universal polymeric reversed-phase Oasis LHB sorbent, this cartridge is 6 cc and designed for extraction across a wide range of acidic, basic, and neutral compounds from various matrices. This is done using a simple and generic protocol. The 60 µm particle size is recommended for work with viscous samples and can be paired with lab equipment and kits like the Carbamate Analysis Kit.

Oasis HLB is a hydrophilic-lipophilic-balanced, reversed-phase sorbent designed to meet a range of SPE needs. The sorbent is made from a specific ratio of two monomers, hydrophilic N-vinylpyrrolidone and lipophilic divinylbenzene, making it water-wettable. Due to the water-wettable nature of Oasis HLB sorbent, these cartridges offer a capability of higher retention and excellent recoveries, even when the sorbent runs dry, preventing the need for extraordinary steps to keep sorbent beds from becoming dry during the period prior to sample loading. Additionally, this unique substrate offers stability at extreme pH and across a wide range of solvents, extraordinary retention of polar compounds, and a relatively high hydrophobic retention capacity when compared to traditional silica-based sorbents.

This product includes 30 cartridges with a 150 mg capacity each. The cartridges are a syringe-barrel style, designed for use with vacuum manifolds and automated SPE instruments.

All products are manufactured using the highest quality standards in the industry, including ISO 9001 and cGMP standards, ensuring excellent reproducibility between batches and lots. The facilities used to manufacture Oasis sorbents are in compliance with guidelines set forth by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for Class 1 Medical Devices.

How Should I Pre-Treat Biological Samples for Use with Oasis HLB Cartridges?

These recommendations are for preparing samples prior to solid-phase extraction. When using biological samples such as plasma, serum, or urine, you should first prepare acidified or basified water diluents. If you are working with plasma or urine, dilute 1:1 with acidified or basified water, then add between 10 and 50 µL of internal standard. The final concentration should be no more than 10% organic; otherwise, protein precipitation can occur and polar compound retention may be compromised. If necessary, you can clarify samples by centrifugation at 8000 x g for between 10 and 20 minutes.
