What Can I Do If I Feel My Chromatography Has Changed?
The primary reason chromatography might change is that either your column is degrading based on your solution, or something is sticking to the column and needs to be washed out. By carefully monitoring and controlling the solution pH and pressure with a silica column in the system, you can help prevent degradation. We also recommend washing with solvents having the same polarity as the column to remove bound organics. Kindly also note, a high-concentration salt washout would remove most things from the ion-exchange columns.
