Deactivated Clear Glass 12 x 32 mm Screw Neck Vial with Cap and Preslit PTFE/Silicone Septum, 2 mL Volume, 100/pk
When working with highly polar analytes that may associate with the polar glass surface, chromatographers choose deactivated vials as the effective vial of choice. These glass vials are treated with gas-phase, reactive organosilane, producing a hydrophobic glass surface. These deactivated vials can be stored dry for an indefinite period of time. The Deactivated Clear Glass 12 x 32 Screw Neck Vial with Cap and Preslit PTFE/Silicone Septum offers this silanized surface, preventing adsorption from highly polarized molecules. These features allow for elimination of the adsorption of compounds onto the glass surface when working with biological and pharmaceutical compounds, natural products, pesticides, and herbicides. The surface modification is permanent, allowing for an indefinite shelf life of this lab equipment.
The vial is sealed using a screw neck, a universal option that forms an excellent seal. When screwed onto a vial, this cap applies a mechanical force that squeezes the septum between the vial and rim cap. The use of screw neck vials requires no additional tools. This vial includes a blue cap, but the same dimensions are available as the Green, 12 x 32 mm Screw Neck Cap and Preslit PTFE/Silicone Septum, 100/pk. The preslit PTFE/Silicone septum provides adequate venting that prevents vacuum formation in the sample vial, delivering excellent reproducibility between sample draws. This also eliminates coring from bottom draw needles while offering good resealing capabilities, making it ideal for multiple injections and a working temperature range of -40 C to 200 C. Waters recommends the preslit PTFE/silicone septa for venting and accurate sample draw.
How Should I Select The Right Vial For My Application?
Waters offers an online vials selector tool, designed to simplify the process of selecting the optimal vial solutions for your system and application requirements. This selector offers vial options that match the criteria you enter, which can include: the system you are using, sample volume, detection method, light sensitivity of analytes, etc. Once you are a registered user, you will be notified of any updates to products. The vial selector tool will consider size, material, septa, and closure when determining the right vial for your applications.
