TruView LCMS Certified Clear Glass 12 x 32 mm Screw Neck Total Recovery Vial, with Cap and Preslit PTFE/Silicone Septum, 1 mL Volume, 100/pk
Analyte adsorption on the surface of glass vials can be a problem for chromatographers working with low analyte concentrations, causing inconsistent analytical results due to the lab equipment. Some chemists even experience total analyte loss after extended periods of storage due to the glass surface of the vial, which allows polar analytes to adsorb through polar-polar interactions, reducing the overall amount of available sample. TruView LCMS Certified Clear Glass Vials are made using a proprietary manufacturing process that minimizes this adsorption.
This unique process provides conditions that limit the concentration of free ions on the surface, yielding high recoveries for polar analytes. All vials are tested rigorously for dimensional characteristics, chemical cleanliness, and adsorption using a variety of techniques, including LC/UV and UPLC/MS.
The Total Recovery Vial format is designed for side draw needles, allowing high sample recovery in cases where sample volume is limited. The Preslit PTFE/Silicone Septum is tested for dimensions, sealing, and cleanliness, and created to provide adequate venting that prevents vacuum formation in sample vials, delivering excellent sample-draw reproducibility. These septa eliminate coring from bottom draw needles and facilitate excellent resealing capabilities, making them recommended for multiple injections at a temperature range of -40 C to 200 C.
These TruView LCMS Certified Clear Glass Vials also feature the universal screw cap, allowing for an excellent seal. This cap screwed onto the vial applies a mechanical force, squeezing the septum between the vial rim and the cap. These screw caps require the use of no additional tools. Black Cap and PTFE/Silicone Septum for TruView Vials are also sold separately.
What Tests Are Used To Certify TruView LCMS Certified Clear Glass Vials?
All Waters vials are certified to be within the dimensional tolerances for height, width, neck opening, neck center, threads, and bottom thickness as specified for autosamplers. As vials outside of these dimensions can cause needle damage and system downtime, adherence to these limits is essential. TruView LCMS Certified Vials are also tested to ensure conformance with UV and MS cleanliness and polar-analyte adsorption. They are tested for high recovery of analyte at a concentration of 1 ng/mL, using UPLC-MS/MS.
