LCMS Certified Amber Glass 12 x 32 mm Screw Neck Vial, with Cap and Preslit PTFE/Silicone Septum, 2 mL Volume, 100/pk
Chromatographers know that high-quality vials are an essential piece of lab equipment when it comes to getting reliable analytical results in the laboratory. In order to ensure both quality and cleanliness, a strict testing protocol is used to confirm the vials, cap, and septa have been properly manufactured, handled, and packaged. This ensures all vials are free from contaminants that could potentially result in chromatographic ghost peaks.
With LC/MS Certified Amber Glass Vials, each vial is tested by MS scans ranging from 250 to 1000 m/z, with specifications set on the total ion count and presence of clusters in the high mass range. LC/MS certification is done using MS detection, using a test with an unbiased approach to looking for ionized masses regardless of sources. These vials are suited for analyte concentrations in the 100’s ng/mL concentration.
This LC/MS Certified Amber Glass Vial features a universal screw cap, which applies a mechanical force that squeezes the septum between the glass rim and the cap. This allows for an excellent seal and mechanically holds the septum in place during piercing. A Preslit PTFE/Silicone septum is used in this model to provide good resealing capabilities, making them recommended for multiple injections. This septum also eliminates coring from bottom draw-port needles and provides adequate venting which prevents vacuum formation in the sample vial and creates excellent sample-draw reproducibility. The Light Blue 12 x 32 mm Cap and PTFE/Silicone Septum for LCMS Certified Vials can be replaced as needed.
Each vial can hold 2 mL volume of liquid and 100 vials are included per package.
What Kind Of Glass Is Used In Amber Glass Vials?
All Waters Amber Glass Vials are made using type 1, 51-expansion glass. This is more alkaline than the type 1, 33-expansion glass used in Waters clear glass vials but is adequate for use in most laboratories. Type 1, 51-expansion glass is composed primarily of silicone and oxygen, with trace amounts of boron. The expansion coefficient is 51 x 10 ^ -7 degrees C. The amber tint on the bottles offers expanded protection from harmful ultraviolet radiation, making it preferable for delicate solutions that may be impacted by light and rays.
