Broad selection of high-quality sample and collection plates

Waters 96-well and 384-well plates are adherent to ANSI and SBS standards and are suitable for LC autosamplers and liquid handling robots. Waters plates are made from polypropylene (PP) for chemical resistance, and specialty 96-well plates with glass inserts are available for samples that are not suitable for polypropylene containers.

Introduction to 96-Well Plates

The 96-well plate, a commonly employed laboratory instrument, consists of a flat, rectangular structure that houses 96 small wells, typically round in shape, arranged in an 8x12 grid pattern. These wells are used to securely contain and arrange samples, reagents, or substances for a wide range of scientific and biomedical experiments. Key characteristics and applications of 96-well plates encompass their capability for conducting high-throughput experiments, suitability for various assays such as ELISAs and PCRs, compatibility with microplate readers, storage capacity, automation of liquid handling processes, and extensive utilization in research, diagnostics, drug discovery, and biotechnology. These plates are manufactured from materials like polystyrene or glass and exhibit variations in well shape and volume, selected according to specific experimental needs and compatibility with equipment. In summary, 96-well plates are essential tools for facilitating efficient, adaptable, and high-throughput laboratory procedures.

Introduction to 384-Well Plates

A 384-well plate, similar to a 96-well plate but with higher density, is a crucial laboratory tool for scientific and biomedical purposes. It contains 384 smaller wells in a 16x24 grid, allowing for ultra-high throughput experiments. These plates are used extensively in assays, microplate readers, sample storage, and liquid handling automation. They find applications in research, diagnostics, and drug discovery. 384-well plates are made from various materials and come in different well shapes and volumes. Their compatibility with instruments and reagents makes them indispensable for efficient and large-scale experiments in diverse scientific fields.

Applications of Sample & Collection Plates

Sample and collection plates are vital tools used in scientific, medical, and industrial fields for efficient sample organization. They serve crucial roles in high-throughput drug screening, diverse assays, and long-term sample storage. In genomics and proteomics, they facilitate DNA sequencing, PCR, and protein analysis. Clinical labs benefit from them in diagnostics and drug research. Biobanks use them for specimen storage, while environmental monitoring relies on them for sample processing. These plates ensure quality control in manufacturing and enable food safety testing, forensic analysis, and microbiological studies. In summary, their versatility and automation support a wide array of applications across industries.
