XBridge Premier 2.5 µm Columns are the evolution of Waters XBridge 2.5 µm XP (eXtended Performance) columns. They combine the industry leading column stability of Ethylene Bridged Hybrid (BEH) particles with MaxPeak High Performance Surface (HPS) Technology. XBridge Premier Columns are available in a standard column format or a VanGuard FIT (Fully Integrated Technology) column format. The VanGuard FIT Column is an all-in-one guard and column design that’s easy-to-use, and extends column lifetimes when analyzing samples in challenging matrices.

XBridge Premier 2.5 µm Columns are part of the MaxPeak Premier Class of columns. Designed to be the most universal column platform, XBridge Premier Columns prevents undesired analyte/surface interactions by utilizing MaxPeak HPS Technology. MaxPeak HPS is designed to increase analyte recovery, sensitivity, and reproducibility by minimizing analyte/surface interactions that can lead to sample losses. In the MaxPeak Premier Class of columns, non-specific adsorption is dramatically reduced for analytes that may bind to metal surfaces, without sacrificing performance for those that do not.

General Use Column Selection

XBridge Columns have been the industry leader in LC column stability due to the novel hybrid particle sub-straight. The Ethylene Bridged Hybrid (BEH) particle technology provides the highest stability of any chromatographic particle when operating under extreme chromatographic conditions, including high temperature and pH.

XBridge Premier Column Ligand	Performance Advantage
XBridge Premier BEH Amide	General purpose, HILIC phase that is well suited to separate carbohydrates (saccharides). The rugged particle and bonding technology enables HILIC methods development at the extremes of pH (2-11) and termperature (up to 90 ºC).
XBridge Premier BEH C18	General purpose, reversed-phase chromatography. Ideally suited for method development due to extreme pH stability (pH 1–12), temperature (up to 90 °C), and performance for the broadest range of compounds.
XBridge Premier BEH Shield RP18	Alternative selectivity when compared to straight-chain C18 chemistries, particularly polyphenolic analytes. Excellent basic analyte peak shape at neutral pH, and compatible with 100% aqueous mobile phases.

Mechanical Strength and Chemical Stability

Ethylene Bridged Hybrid (BEH) particle technology ensures maximum column performance and longer columns lifetimes under all chromatographic conditions. The hybrid particle technology offers many advantages over conventional silica-based particles, including the ability to control silanol activity for better reproducibility, peak shape and efficiency. The BEH particle is created from two high purity monomers: tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) and bis(triethoxysilyl) ethane (BTEE), which results in highly stable, mechanically strong particles that set the performance standard for method development.

High pH Lifetime

XBridge Columns provide the highest pH stability in a chromatographic column. A variety of columns were tested under accelerated pH 10 stability testing conditions and monitored for efficiency. While some commercially available columns claim to be stable at elevated pH, there is a clear decline in performance for all columns except the XBridge C18 Column.

Cost Effective Protection

VanGuard FIT (Fully Integrated Technology) Guard Columns provide an easy-to-use format that extends the life of your column, without sacrificing performance. They thread directly into a FIT column that has been precisely machined to integrate them into the column flow path, eliminating excess volumes. This easy-to-install design does not require ferrules, or other small parts.

*XBridge Premier VanGuard FIT Columns are required for use with the XBridge Premier VanGuard FIT Guard Columns, as this is an integrated design requiring the two to thread together.
