Cutting edge mass spectral data in a compact instrument

The ACQUITY QDa Mass Detector is the perfect instrument with which to introduce undergraduates to the principles of mass spectrometry. Designed to be intuitive to use, this robust and pre-optimized mass spectrometer can be operated without specialized training. With a single button, the ACQUITY QDa Mass Detector can be started at the beginning of the class and is ready to use within minutes.

At just 35 cm x 75cm, it’s the same footprint as an ACQUITY LC and means that the ACQUITY QDa Mass Detector will fit into most lab spaces easily.

Direct sample introduction

Using an isocratic LC pump and the ACQUITY diverter valve, it provides the ideal way for students to learn how to introduce samples to the ACQUITY QDa Mass Detector. However, if you wanted to expand the level of teaching to includes chromatography, then an HPLC or UHPLC can be easily switched in.

Everything you need to get started

The ACQUITY QDa Mass Detector is controlled and data is acquired and processed using MassLynx Software. For your convenience, methods and sample lists that support the exercises in the handbooks have been pre-populated into the program so that your students can dedicate their time acquiring and analyzing the data.

Intelligent data processing

The ACQUITY QDa Mass Detector is supplied with a MassLynx Software workstation for intuitive data acquisition and processing. To streamline the laboratory experiments, methods, and sample lists have been pre-populated to maximize student time on acquiring and processing experimental data.

Alternatively, an Atmospheric Solids Analysis Probe, ASAP, provides rapid direct analysis of volatile and semi-volatile, solid and liquid samples without the need for sample preparation. ASAP offers features such as the ability to apply a temperature ramp, or thermal gradient, which separates components based on their different boiling points. The RADIAN ASAP Direct Mass Detector combines both ASAP technology with single quadrupole mass spectrometry, resulting in a dedicated system specifically designed for busy academic laboratories who need a robust and reliable solution.
