Guard-Pak Holder

Waters Guard-Pak Holder is designed as a compact, stand-alone housing for the unique and disposable Guard-Pak Inserts made by Waters. These Guard-Pak Holders are installed directly in line with your HPLC system immediately before the analytical column, and it serves to protect the analytical LC columns from the gradual accumulation of chemical contaminants and any particles from the sample.

The Guard-Pak assembly consists of two main parts-- the holder and a disposable insert. The assembly is designed to protect the lab setup and the analytical column in the mobile phase stream. The Guard-Pak assembly is paired with identical sorbents as used in HPLC columns and cartridges, making them compatible with the rest of the setup.

It is highly recommended to use best laboratory practices when handling the Guard-Pak Holder and introducing it into your system, using the same precautions that you follow with analytical columns along with any system and sorbent-specific precautions. To prevent any formation or accumulation of precipitation inside the insert, use only miscible eluents in series.

The Guard-Pak Holder and Guard-Pak assembly are fairly simple and straightforward to handle and assemble into the system. You can place the Guard-Pak insert on the outlet unit and place the Guard-Pak Holder inlet and collar on top while hand-tightening only.
