CORTECS C18+ Column, 90Å, 1.6 µm, 2.1 mm X 50 mm, 1/pk
With Waters’ unique understanding of sub-2 µm particles and how to harness their power, the CORTECS column offers a new kind of UltraPerformance LC column. The core of these columns is a 1.6 µm solid-core particle technology that enables you to achieve new levels of efficiency and superior performance across applications. The CORTECS C18+ column offers these benefits along with the best peak shape and increased sensitivity of basic analytes when using low ionic strength mobile phases like formic acid.
The C18+ chemistry used in these columns features a charged-surface particle, based on Waters’ novel Charged Surface Hybrid (CSH) Technology, which imparts a low-level positive charge to the surface of the particle. This technology allows for low ionic strength mobile phases to be used to analyze basic compounds while still facilitating improved peak shape, loading capacity, and signal-to-noise performance in mass spectrometry. CSH Technology also allows for formic acid to be substituted for an ion-pairing reagent while maintaining a good peak shape.
CORTECS C18+ columns provide the full range of capabilities provided by solid-core particle lab equipment, including the enablement of faster separations that lead to greater throughput. By simply raising the flow rate of the method, these columns allow for increased sample throughput while maintaining comparable or better peak capacities. This increased analysis speed does not sacrifice any separation performance, leaving you the option to run more samples in the same amount of time or to reach results faster. Laboratories then see lower costs of analysis and overall operation.
Columns are sold individually, though multiple can be purchased with the CORTECS C18_+ Column, 90Å, 1.6 µm, 2.1 mm X 50 mm, 3/pk.
How Do I Maximize the Lifetime of My CORTECS C18+ Column?
In order to maximize the lifetime of your column, pay close attention to the quality of water and purification systems, solvent quality, the preparation and storage of your mobile phase, the solubility of sample, buffer, and mobile phase solutions, and the quality and preparation of your samples. When problems occur, often only one of these things is the problem, so you can troubleshoot one item at a time. When possible, avoid using 100% aqueous mobile phases and HPLC-grade bottled water.
