Sales Tax Exemptions

A consumer may not be required to pay a sales tax if the purchase is to be used in a manner which exempts it from taxation. To claim an exemption on purchases made from Waters’ entities you are required to provide a valid, completed, and signed Certificate of Exemption. As a consumer you are responsible for knowing if you qualify to claim an exemption from tax in the State/Province/Jurisdiction that would otherwise be due tax on the sale. The Consumer will be held liable for any tax and interest, as well as penalties imposed by the State/Province/Jurisdiction, if the purchaser is not eligible to claim an exemption. As the seller, Waters’ entities are required to keep a copy of the Certificate of Exemption on file. Please issue certificates in the name of the entity from which the purchase is being made.
