Product Description

The universal, silica-based bonded phase used for the ACQUITY HSS T3 sorbents is compatible with 100% aqueous mobile phase and should be your first choice when developing separations for polar and non-polar compounds. The ACQUITY HSS T3 UPLC columns exhibit ultra-low MS bleed and are fully scalable and transferable to HPLC separations. The VanGuard pre-column connects directly to the inlet of the ACQUITY UPLC column which minimizes extra columns volumes and reduces leaking by eliminating additional connections.

ACQUITY UPLC HSS T3 VanGuard Pre-column, 100Å, 1.8 µm, 2.1 mm X 5 mm, 3/pk

The Waters ACQUITY UPLC HSS T3 VanGuard Pre-columns are designed to be used with the ACQUITY UPLC columns for reversed-phase Liquid Chromatography. The VanGuard Pre-columns are single units, designed to be attached directly to the inlet side of an ACQUITY UPLC Column.

The easy to install ACQUITY UPLC HSS T3 VanGuard Pre-columns ensure that your ACQUITY UPLC Column is protected from damaging contaminants. They enhance and improve the column’s analytical performance by filtering out any chemical and particulate impurities that may be present in the mobile phase stream.

ACQUITY UPLC HSS T3 VanGuard Pre-columns are manufactured under the strictest cGMP, ISO 9001 conditions. Each unit is tested and certified for its use, guaranteeing that it will deliver optimal performance, and enhance the selectivity, sensitivity, and speed of your analysis. The ACQUITY UPLC HSS T3 VanGuard Pre-columns are built with the same premier materials as the ACQUITY UPLC columns, making them ideally suited for analytical performance.

Waters ACQUITY UPLC HSS T3 VanGuard Pre-columns ensure that your UPLC analytical columns last longer without compromising their chromatographic analytical performance. This is achieved by removing chemical and particulate contaminants from the columns, and maintaining their UPLC, UHPLC, and HPLC separation efficiency.

Available in a wide range of stationary phases and particle sizes, the ACQUITY UPLC HSS T3 VanGuard Pre-columns are best suited for both the physical and chemical protection of your analytical columns. Use alongside other equipment, like the TruView LCMS Certified Clear Glass 12 x 32 mm Screw Neck Vial. Employing the ACQUITY UPLC HSS T3 VanGuard Pre-column is also a cost-effective way of managing your since the pre-columns sustain the analytical columns.

When should the VanGuard pre-column be replaced?

The Waters ACQUITY VanGuard pre-columns are designed and manufactured using the same packing materials as the ACQUITY UPLC Columns under ISO 9001 conditions, and they are built to give you lasting performance. The pre-columns are designed as disposable and may require replacements as single units over time. Replacement of the VanGuard pre-columns is recommended before any impurities affect the analytical column. Any evidence of shifts in retention, changes in peak shape, peak splitting, changes in resolution, shoulders on the peak, or increasing back-pressure are indicators of impact on the Liquid Chromatography column. If you observe deteriorated quality of separation or notice a significant increase in back-pressure (up to 20%), replace the guard column.

What is UPLC?

UPLC stands for Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography. It is the next step in separation science beyond HPLC, or High Performance Liquid Chromatography. UPLC Columns are packed with smaller particles [1.7 – 1.8 µm], enabling your lab to achieve the highest level of chromatographic performance. With UPLC Technology, your lab can improve resolution, sensitivity and speed, all without compromise.
