Nova-Pak C18 Column, 60Å, 4 µm, 3.9 mm X 300 mm, 1/pk

Based on 4 µm particle technology, Nova-Pak C18 Columns offer bonded phases that facilitate high resolution and fast, efficient chromatography. Used in combination with relatively short column lengths, the smaller particles used in these columns reduce solvent consumption without compromising the ability to resolve complex mixtures. Compared to a similar 5 µm particle column, Nova-Pak columns offer higher resolution, more efficient separations, and faster chromatography. Experts who seek performance and innovation choose these reversed-phase, silica-based columns to help laboratories reach their full potential.

Nova-Pak C18 Columns have a larger surface area for mobile phases to travel across, meaning there is more interaction time between elutes and the bonded phase. This causes the sample to elute more slowly and ultimately allows more separation. As general-purpose columns based on 4 µm particle technology, these columns offer an unparalleled range of possibilities for separation in addition to their high efficiency and extended carbon surface area. With faster separations, concentrated fractions are produced, requiring less solvent and ultimately reducing operating costs for your laboratory significantly.

Each package contains one Nova-Pak C18 Column with an inner diameter of 3.9 mm and a length of 300 mm. There offer a 60 A pore size with a surface area of 120, a 7% carbon load, and a pH range of 2-8. All Nova-Pak columns feature Waters’ proprietary end-capping process.

All Waters analytical columns are made using strict quality control methodology, ensuring a high level of reproducibility between batches and columns. Further testing can be performed using your lab equipment and Reversed-Phase QC Reference Material.

Why Should I Use 4 µm Particles?

Chromatographic separations using packed columns can benefit from a high number of theoretical plates per column; the number of these theoretical plates can be increased by packing smaller particles into each column. Traditional ion chromatography columns have used particles between 7 and 9 µm in diameter, but recent developments have allowed 4 µm particle sizes to be possible. Benefits of these smaller particles include more efficient peaks, better resolution, faster run times, easier integration, and more reliable results. The length of the column can also be optimized for desired results, as shorter lengths can be used at higher flow rates while longer columns offer higher resolution separations.
